Guided Imagery

Guided imagery is very similar to meditation in terms of its attention to specific thoughts, however, guided imagery engages all of your senses — vision, taste, sound, smell, and touch — to help you reach a place of relaxation and calm. You counselor may read a guided meditation script during therapy, or share a recording that you can also use at home. The more you practice guided imagery, the more effective it will be in helping you to reduce anxiety, stress, and other forms of psychological distress.
